Service terms

Clear expectations protect the customer and the work.

These plain-language terms apply to appointment requests and support delivered by Techease. They were last updated on 17 October 2026.

These terms are a launch draft and should receive appropriate business or professional review before the website accepts public requests.

1

Appointment requests

Submitting a preferred time does not create a confirmed appointment. A visit is arranged only when Techease separately confirms the date, arrival window, service location and any special travel arrangement.

2

Operating hours and after-hours work

Standard appointment hours are Saturday and Sunday from 9am to 5pm. Weekday appointments after 4:30pm are available by agreement. Weekday evenings, Sundays and public holidays add 25% to the normal charge and have a one-hour labour minimum. Saturday daytime uses standard pricing.

3

Initial charges and time

The applicable zone's initial charge covers travel and the first 30 minutes. The minimum applies to the visit and diagnostic time even when the issue needs parts, offsite work, another provider or cannot be repaired during the visit. Additional onsite time is billed in 15-minute blocks at the published rate.

4

Cancellation and rescheduling

Cancel or reschedule at least 24 hours before the confirmed appointment. A $25 fee applies when less than 24 hours' notice is provided, except where the law requires otherwise. Techease may waive the fee at its discretion in exceptional circumstances.

5

Customer not home or no access

If access is not available at the confirmed time, the technician will wait for up to 30 minutes while trying to contact the customer by phone, text message and email. This waiting period uses the 30 minutes included in the initial charge. If contact or access is not provided, the full initial charge for the applicable zone is due.

6

Estimates and changing scope

A diagnosis can reveal work that was not reasonably apparent from the request. Techease will explain the likely next step and material change in expected cost before continuing wherever practical. An estimate is not a guarantee when the underlying condition changes or additional faults are discovered.

7

Parts, licences and approval

Before ordering parts, Techease provides an invoice or written estimate identifying the parts, quantities, prices and installation cost. The customer must approve the work and prepay the full parts cost; labour remains due when the work is completed. Techease orders and installs approved parts. Change-of-mind returns are not offered unless agreed in writing, but this does not limit rights or remedies under the Australian Consumer Law. If a part is found faulty during installation, Techease will coordinate the relevant supplier or manufacturer process.

8

Offsite device custody

A device is taken offsite only after the customer signs a custody and work authorisation. The document records the device, its condition, the approved work and relevant risks. The usual estimated turnaround is 3 to 5 days unless another timeframe is stated, but an estimate may change if diagnosis, parts or third-party services cause delay.

9

Repair notice, backups and data risk

Before Techease accepts a device capable of storing customer data for repair, the customer receives a separate written repair notice explaining that repair may cause data loss. Backups are made only when required and with written customer consent. The customer authorises Techease to hold that backup only while the approved work is completed. Techease uses reasonable care but cannot guarantee that data, settings or access can always be preserved or recovered. Nothing in this clause excludes rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.

10

Passwords and access

Do not send credentials through the website or email. You are expected to enter passwords, one-time codes, payment information and recovery details yourself. You must have authority to request work on the device, network and accounts provided for support.

11

Malware and security limitations

Before malware work proceeds, Techease explains the proposed process, material risks—including possible data loss or device instability—and an approximate cost. Security work reduces identified risk but cannot guarantee that every threat, unauthorised access or consequence has been removed. Techease may recommend a reinstall, credential changes, specialist recovery or contact with a bank, platform, insurer or relevant authority.

12

Potentially unrepairable devices

If a device appears unlikely to be repairable, Techease will explain that assessment and the likely cost and risks of continuing. Work continues only when the customer gives written authorisation after receiving that information. Payment remains due for approved diagnostic time and work already performed.

13

Remote support

A remote-support preference is accepted only when Techease confirms that the issue and device are suitable. Permission for each remote connection is requested separately, and the customer may end the session at any time. Remote access is not installed or left unattended merely because a website request was submitted.

14

Availability and third parties

Techease cannot guarantee an internet provider's service, a platform's account-recovery decision, product availability, ferry operation, building wiring or the performance of incompatible or unsuitable equipment.

15

Payment, receipts and GST

Cash and bank transfer are accepted initially. Payment is due on the same day the service is provided, except for approved parts that must be prepaid. Techease provides proof of transaction for payments of $75 or more and on request for lower amounts, and provides an itemised bill when required. Techease is not registered for GST, so published prices do not contain a GST component.

16

Consumer rights

Nothing in these terms excludes rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded, including applicable Australian Consumer Law guarantees. Any manufacturer warranty is additional to those rights. Techease will not direct a customer away from a remedy that Techease is legally responsible to provide.
