Frequently asked questions
Clear answers before you invite someone into your home.
These answers explain how requests, pricing and sensitive information are handled.
Is my preferred time booked as soon as I submit it?
No. It is an appointment request until Techease reviews the issue, travel zone and preferred windows, then sends a separate confirmation. This avoids double-booking and makes sure the request is within scope.
Do I need to know what is wrong before asking for help?
No. Describe what you see, when it started and what you were trying to do. Choose Other / not sure if none of the service categories feels right.
Is there a separate call-out fee?
No. Each published onsite zone has an initial charge that includes travel and the first 30 minutes. Additional onsite time is billed at $30 per 15 minutes. Journeys beyond approximately 30 km are quoted before travel.
What areas do you visit?
Techease serves Port Macquarie and surrounds. Published zones currently cover Port Macquarie urban, Thrumster, Sovereign Hills, Wauchope, Lake Cathie, Bonny Hills and North Shore via ferry. Comparable or longer journeys are confirmed before the appointment.
When are appointments available?
Saturday appointments are available from 9am to 5pm at standard pricing. Sunday appointments are available from 9am to 5pm with the 25% after-hours adjustment and one-hour labour minimum. Monday to Friday appointments after 4:30pm are available by agreement with the same after-hours conditions.
What if I need to cancel or I am not home?
Cancel or reschedule at least 24 hours before the confirmed appointment. A $25 fee applies inside 24 hours, except where the law requires otherwise. If access is unavailable, the technician waits and attempts contact for up to 30 minutes. If there is no response, the full initial charge for the applicable zone is due.
Should I send my password or recovery code?
No. Never put passwords, one-time codes, recovery codes, payment details or other credentials in the website form or an email. You should enter sensitive information yourself when it is needed during support.
Can every malware problem be completely removed?
No service can guarantee that every threat or consequence has been removed. Techease can assess the device, run reputable tools and explain the remaining risk. A severe compromise may require a reinstall or specialist help.
Are parts and software licences included?
No. Parts, paid software, licences and third-party services are separate. Before parts are ordered, you receive an invoice or estimate showing the parts and installation cost, approve the work in writing and prepay the parts cost. Labour is due when the work is completed. Australian Consumer Law rights still apply.
What happens if my device needs to be taken offsite?
Techease takes a device offsite only after you sign a custody and work authorisation. The usual estimated turnaround is 3 to 5 days unless another timeframe is stated. Data backups are made only when needed for the approved work and with separate written consent.
How can I pay?
Cash and bank transfer are the initial payment methods, and payment is due on the same day as the service. Techease is not registered for GST. Proof of transaction is provided for payments of $75 or more and on request for lower amounts. Card payment will only be advertised after a processor is selected and tested.
Can you help remotely?
Remote support may suit some issues and starts at $55 for the first 30 minutes, then $25 per additional 15 minutes. Techease will confirm whether remote access is appropriate before proceeding.
Still unsure?
